MANIFESTATION OF THE "FESTIVE SIDE" OF REGIONAL POLICY IN THE REGION HEAD'S ACTIONS (CASE STUDY OF THE REPUBLIC OF BASHKORTOSTAN)

Abstract

The article focuses on the two sides of policy: «official» and «festive.» The empirical basis of the study is empirical data obtained by the author in the course of monitoring news feeds of Russian news agencies in 2008-2011. Special attention is paid to the festive aspect of regional policy, which is discussed on an example of the highest chief executives of the Republic of Bashkortostan. We give a general description of it on the basis of three key parameters: public written reports, participation in ceremonies and travel to participate in festivities. The results obtained help to understand the content of the «festive» and its manifestations in regional policy
