"ARAB SPRING" AS A SOURCE OF CONCEPTUAL PLURALISM IN POLITICAL STUDIES OF ISLAMIC EAST

Abstract

The article considers currently important approaches to studying political processes in the Islamic world. The author underlines the necessity to change them after the events of the so-called “Arab spring”. The emphasis is put on analyzing research potential of two traditional approaches to political studies of the Islamic world. Firstly, it is a universalist approach. Secondly, it is a civilizational approach. The author gives their historical background and analyzes up-to-date condition. Besides, the author touches upon some new approaches, for example, logical conceptual. The result of the study is the author’s approach implying the analysis of madhhab as a basis for political changes.
