The existence of evil in the world poses a significant challenge to traditional religious beliefs, as they find it difficult to reconcile its presence with the Creator God, who is all-powerful and all-good. Epicurus suggests that an omnipotent being can abolish evil; an all-good being would want to abolish it. However, the existence of evil raises a severe challenge to the belief in an all-powerful, allgood God—the existence of evil challenges the belief in God’s omnipotence and perfection. If evil had been present before the creation, then God would have been limited by its presence. The existence of evil in the world is a significant problem for theists, as it contradicts the belief in God’s omnipotence and perfection. Various philosophers have defined evil, from Greek to modern times, who all believed in the existence of evil and the existence of a world of unchanging ideas. These theories highlight the complexity of understanding the existence of evil and its relationship with the universe. This research paper deals with the problem of evil and how it can be categorized into different types. Further, this paper will also investigate the possible solution to the problem of evil and how evil can be considered as a part of the condition of good. At the end of the paper, a brief conclusion will be drawn from the ideas of different philosophers.
