Abstract

On the basis of American sources the article deals with the issue of interaction of the main political life subjects, that is professional politicians on the one hand and “masses” on the other hand through humor. The basic functions of humor in politics have been analyzed, as well as four categories of humor, corresponding to four types of political culture have been pointed out.
