Abstract

The article examines the main approaches to the analysis of inertia in Russian politics. The author states that despite the common practice to describe Russian political system in terms of inertness the phenomenon of inertia seems to be still poorly investigated. It is concluded that the study of contemporary Russian politics requires detailed analysis of inertia as a set of mechanisms, which ensure a stable reproduction of the present institutional order.
