Abstract

The article states the way students consider universe and space race, which is regarded as a reflection of double contingency. The study shows the students’ attitude to the Earth-based and space-based realities, the level of students’ awareness in the sphere of science and technology and global problems of the mankind. Self-development and self-protection of the society in its activities aimed at space development should help the mankind to escape from self-destruction.
