A NEW WAY OF LEGITIMATING GOVERNORS’ POWER IN RUSSIA: PECULIARITIES AND PROBLEMS

Abstract

The article analyzes a new situation with legitimating executive authorities of Russian sub-federal units. The author gives statistical, quantitative and qualitative analysis of the cohort of contenders for the post of a governor which was formed by the President V. Putin from January to June 2014. The author considers main elements of the winning formula of the representatives of this cohort at the elections of September, 14, 2014. Basing on the data of sociological research the author analyzes theoretical and practical chances of using all the elements of the winning formula at the coming elections by a representative of this cohort, a contender for the post of a governor, B. Dubrovskiy.
