FORMATION OF REGIONAL IDENTITY OF CHELYABINSK REGION: THE PROBLEM OF PERIODIZATION

Abstract

This article deals with the features of the development of regional identity i n the Chelyabinsk region at the present stage. The actions of regional elites are analyzed to ensure their own legitimacy; to create characters and images of the territory. The factors influencing the formation of the needs of the population of the region in self-identification are defined. The periods of formation of regional identity are allocated here.
