DEVELOPMENT OF COMMUNICATION SYSTEM IN LENINGRAD DURING THE GREAT PATRIOTIC WAR

Abstract

On the basis of archival documents in the article analyses the role of communication institutions of Leningrad during the Great Patriotic war and the siege of Leningrad. At that time significant role in development of communication system played Leningrad scientific research institutes and higher educational institutions. These institutions have contributed to the development of radio communication, special encryption hardware, apparatus for frontline communications, telephone industry. The author concludes that researches and developments in the field of communication had contributed to accelerate the achievement of Victory in the Great Patriotic war.
