PYRENEES AND RUSSIAN EXPANSIONIST SYSTEMS: SOME HISTORICAL PARALLELS

Abstract

The authors analyze the features of the expansionist systems of Portugal and Spain in the modern history era. At the same time they show some features (paradoxes) of the origin and functioning of such systems. The presence of a certain similarity in the development of them with the expansionist systems operating in Russia at various stages of its historical development are revealed and justified. Based on this, the authors insist on the need to consider the above mentioned circumstances, to research the possible ways of development of our country under the present conditions.
