Abstract

The author describes the key trends and tendencies of development of engineers for the railway industry in Ural technical universities training. Special attention is paid to the work of the Urals Electromechanical Institute For Railway Engineers. The article is of concern for those who are interested in the history of higher technical education development in the USSR.
