OVERALL DEFINITION OF SOCIO-CULTURAL VALUES OF A PERSON: NEOHUMBOLDTIAN APPROACH AND ITS CORRELATION WITH THE THEORY OF COGNITION OF HUMBERTO MATURANA

Abstract

The article deals with the philosophical notion of socio-cultural values of a person in the context of the approach dated back to Wilhelm von Humboldt, Leo Weisgerber and Humberto Maturana. The author considers the uprise of values as a result of a person’s cooperation with the environment. The author gives a definition of a person as a creature possessing a certain set of values. The author proves that socio-cultural values are necessary for surviving and further evolution of a human being.
