A REGION AS A SOCIAL CONSTRUCT

Abstract

The article focuses on characterizing a region as a social construct, it points out the elements having subjective genesis in its structure. Considering the determinant of forming a region as a construct, the author examines territoriality in its institutional, political, economic, cultural, historical dimensions. The author proves the conclusion about a strong constructivist constituent in the ontological status of the region.
