DISTRIBUTION OF POWER POSITIONS IN DAGESTAN: STUDYING THE POLITICAL REPRESENTATION OF ETHNIC GROUPS IN REGIONAL AUTHORITIES

Abstract

The article describes the practice of political representation of ethnic groups in regional government authorities in the Republic of Dagestan where in order to provide social and political stability both the federal center and the republic’s authorities try to preserve inter-ethnic balance when distributing power positions.
