Abstract

Neoevolutionism links the development of the ancient society with changes of its social structure. In the frame of the given paradigm there are the following stages of evolution of pre-civilizational society: local acephalious groups, tribes, group of bugman, chieftancy, early state. Each of these forms is different from the others by a certain level of complication. Nevertheless, some forms of sociality can correspond to the same level of complication. So, the development of an ancient society can be considered as a multilinear process by neoevolutionism.
