THE WAYS OF FORMATION OF VIETNAMESE PHILOSOPHY

Abstract

The author tries to identify the characteristics and qualities of Vietnamese philosophical thought. To justify the conclusions, the author makes excursion into the past, examines some of the stages of local and regional history. The author analyzes the history of the study and criticism of contemporary Western philosophy in Vietnam. With the purpose of turning Marxism-Leninism doctrine into the orthodox ideology, like in other socialist countries, Vietnam looked at modern Western philosophy as an opponent and set out a mission to criticize and to minimize its influences in the country. The objectivity of the existence of Vietnamese society causes the prevalence of the spirit of patriotism in the cultural sphere that affects the understanding of the philosophy in Vietnam.
