Abstract

The article tells how the right to opposition is differently manifested in different cultural contexts and how this right was documented by political and philosophical thought. The history of political relations shows that opposition can be objectified in various forms. One of such forms is a revolt in particular. The analysis of philosophical views of some authors and reference to the political memoiristics help us to see special attitude to the right to a revolt which exists in different cultural and legal traditions. Differences in cultures affect both the perception of a rebel and on the justice of his claim to satisfying his expectations. The right to opposition in some cultures is an enduring value which directly affects political practice. In other political and legal systems the right to opposition is not an eternal value which affects the trajectory of development of political processes.
