Abstract
Introduction. The article is devoted to the theoretical analysis of the value foundations of political identity and presents the author’s version of their conceptual understanding in the space of political and psychological knowledge. The purpose of the study is to conceptually comprehend the value foundations of political identity in the regional, national and civilizational dimensions in the context of current Russian realities. Methods. The analysis methodology is based on the identitarian approach, which allows us to consider identity as a complex phenomenon in which different aspects of self-determination of a person and a group in the social space as a whole and its political segment in particular are manifested. The definition of the value foundations of political identity is carried out within the framework of the political and psychological approach. Scientific novelty of the research. The authors propose to consider political identity in modern Russia as a multi-level structure in which regional, national and civilizational components are combined on a value basis of a traditional nature. Results. Political identity is considered as a political and psychological phenomenon, in the structure of which three components are distinguished — values, images and symbols. The essence and main characteristics of political values as meaningforming foundations of the identity of the political community are determined; their role in the construction of its figurative and symbolic space is designated. Different types (levels) of political identity are considered at the conceptual level — regional (macroregional), national (national-civil, nationalstate) and civilizational, attention is focused on the nature of macropolitical identity, which is formed in modern Russia. Conclusions. The authors come to the conclusion that political identity in modern Russia can be defined as civilizational and state. This opens up new research opportunities and determines the tasks of its construction within the framework of different areas of domestic policy.
